First group ride: what to do before the start

The first ride should feel clear and calm. The goal is not to prove fitness, but to join the group safely and learn the movement rules.

Choose the group in advance

Message the coach before the start and describe your experience honestly: how long you ride, typical distance and whether you have ridden in a group.

Check the bike at home

Brakes, tyre pressure, wheel skewers, lights and a spare tube should be ready before you leave. The meeting point is not a repair zone.

Ride the first kilometres with margin

Do not pull if you are unsure. Hold your line, avoid sudden moves and call potholes or stops early.
